Before and after The Mandalorian and Grogu came to theaters, people had thoughts on ol’ Rotta the Hutt. Granted, most of those thoughts were “why is he here?” and “why the heck is he voiced by Jeremy Allen White?” but the character ended up becoming a bit of a meme during the film’s brief theatrical life. Whether you loved or hated that, the meme shall live on a bit longer thanks to Spirit Halloween.
This year, you’ll be able to celebrate the spooky season by getting into a $75, adult-sized inflatable Rotta costume from everyone’s favorite seasonal retail chain. The “one size fits most” suit comes with holes for your arms and legs, along with a battery-operated fan and belt-clip battery pack. Spirit’s description notes this’ll have you “turning heads all Halloween long,” and it’s probably right. It’s not every Halloween that you see someone in a buff Hutt suit walking around.
A Halloween costume isn’t the only thing happening to Rotta the Hutt lately. Earlier this week, he was added to the Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes mobile game as part of its “Era of the New Republic” update alongside Mando co-stars Colonel Ward, Grogu, and the Anzellans. In-game, Rotta is a heavy hitter who can go it alone as a gladiator or get some bonuses if he’s got Hutt Cartel allies by his side. The devs have a full breakdown of his for you to read here, and maybe the game will help you get in the Rotta mindset while waiting for your costume to be delivered.
